Dentistry's most cutting-edge technology is the CEREC CAD/CAM (Computer
Aided Design-Computer Aided Manufacturing) system. In a single visit,
Dr. Hagen or Dr. Abas can restore your tooth with long-lasting ceramic,
returning it to its original strength and natural beauty. Gone are the
days of runny impression materials, temporary crowns or fillings, and
having to return in two weeks to have your tooth finished!
With the CEREC system, repairing a tooth is much more conservative than
in the past. Once the old filling, cavity, or crack is removed, the
tooth is optically scanned into the computer using a small camera. A
milling unit then creates the missing part out of a solid block of
tooth-colored ceramic in about 10-15 minutes. The restoration is then
chemically bonded to your tooth, all in one appointment!
The advantages of the CEREC system to you are numerous:
1. One visit treatment saves you time, travel, scheduling, etc.
2. Less invasive procedure eliminates the need for a full crown in most instances.
3. Highly esthetic ceramic restorations come in a variety of colors, restoring teeth to their original color.
4. Completely metal-free restorations.
5. No temporary crown or filling, No impressions, No return visit for the same tooth, No removal of healthy tooth structure!
Dr. Hagen is a member of the Academy of Computerized Dentistry of
North America, and has given lectures and hands-on seminars to numerous
other dentists. Dr. Hagen was among the first dentists in Orange County
to be trained in the CEREC system, providing this state-of-the-art
procedure for their patients since 2001.
